Reenacting is a fun and rewarding hobby. Whether you portray famous historical figures or your own fictional character, reenacting is a form of time travel for those of us who feel they were born in the wrong era. However, reenacting can be overwhelming and very expensive. I hope through this blog to help those new to the hobby, or even those veteran reenactors, to enjoy reenacting without breaking the bank. Blog posts will address things like developing your character, traditions and etiquette for different time periods, and affordable but accurate clothing options. So step back in time to days gone by...

Grins and Giggles-Past Meets Present

While enjoying a day in history...
technology calls.

  1. ring...ring....or maybe it's a theme song from ring tone!
    You all look wonderful.

  2. OH KIM! THIS IS AN AWESOME BLOG! I love your ideas. This is a great way to teach, to enjoy your love of the era and to live vicariously through it all!!! teeeeheeee...thank you for coming over and I am so happy that you were touched by The Master through my simple post. I had no idea this morning at 4:00am what I was going to write. I usually composed and post on Friday nights, but I really stretched it by waiting for today. But the fun is to watch the simple words flow out and touch someone. Merci.

  3. How funny! It's strange how modern technology can throw off the otherwise perfect picture from the past. You must really have to remember to turn off the cell phones when you're giving a presentation (LOL!).

  4. Kim, what a fascinating blog!! I'll bet you get so much enjoyment from the characters you portray, and I'll bet onlookers really are thrilled. I don't blame you for wanting to be a wealthy woman... why not? Thanks for the lovely comment on my new blog. I'll definitely be visiting yours again soon.

  5. Hi Kim,

What a wonderful new blog you have here, and I love this era, the elegant gowns and everything so prim and proper.
Thanks for sharing and I look forward to coming back to visit again, maybe for high tea.

  6. Hi Kim! What fun! I would love to dress up in period costumes! There are movies I watch just to see the dresses...such as Gwyneth Paltrow's "Emma" with her dozens of changes! Now we must get Kramer involved! Thanks so much for visiting my neighbor's new blog! Happy weekend!...hugs...Debbie

  7. This is going to wonderful, Kim. I am in awe of all your amazing outfits. It will be fun to learn more about the reenactments.
